FAU’s Jenny Bloom Inducted into ACPA Foundation Diamond Honoree Class of 2022

Jenny Bloom, Ed.D., was one of 19 individuals inducted as a distinguished member into the ACPA (American College Personnel Association) Foundation Diamond Honoree Class of 2022. She received a prestigious lapel pin as a memento to commemorate this prestigious honor and achievement at the 2022 ACPA Convention held at the in St. Louis, MO. Professor Bloom joins many “greats” recognized as Diamond Honorees who have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field of student affairs and within ACPA.
Cristobal Salinas, Jr., Ph.D., and Amanda Propst Cuevas, Ph.D., served as Bloom’s champions who spearheaded her nomination process and subsequent fundraising efforts for this award. Diamond Honorees are “championed” by dedicated persons who recognize an individual’s specific contributions and choose to raise funds in honor of each Diamond Honoree’s outstanding and sustained commitment to higher education through student affairs and student development. Jenny Bloom joined the College of Education faculty of the department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology at Florida Atlantic University in August 2015. She is the Coordinator of the Higher Education Leadership Master’s Degree Program and she founded the Office of Appreciative Education at FAU.
Professor Bloom is a co-founder of the Appreciative Advising, Appreciative Administration, and Appreciative Education movements. Bloom served as the 2007-08 President of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and was named the recipient of NACADA’s Virginia N. Gordon Award for Excellence in the Field of Advising in 2017. Bloom has co-authored six books and numerous articles and has presented her work at over 500 higher education institutions and conferences.
